The minor in animal care and wellness is intended for students who are interested in the health and welfare of animals. This minor provides students with the knowledge, skills and professionalism necessary to promote and safeguard the health and welfare of animals across various species and settings. Through a blend of humanities and life-science based exploration and ethical consideration, students who complete the minor will be prepared to play pivotal roles in ensuring the well-being of animals in our society.

The animal care and wellness minor allows students to enhance their bachelor’s degree with knowledge about various animal roles/groups (e.g. companion, farm, wildlife, shelter, rescue and animals) and animal welfare (treatment of animals and their rights across cultures).
