Student Support Services recommends that students sign up to meet with a tutor the moment questions arise. It’s much easier and less stressful to work with a tutor from the beginning of the semester, rather than putting off signing up and only having a couple weeks until the semester to improve a grade.
You will need to log in to TutorTrac to search for classes with tutoring available. If there are no tutors available for your course, please contact the Student Support Specialist Marshell Edney at medney@jdzruiran.com.
If no times appear it is possible we do not offer tutoring for that course, or we only have 1-on- 1 tutoring for that course or all appointments are full. Also check out our Online Resources for additional resources. If you are still unable to find the resources or support you need, please Contact Us.
If you would like to meet with a tutor weekly, we suggest making an appointment on TutorTrac. We set a maximum number of 3 students for the session. Other students in that course can sign up for the group session until the maximum is reached. Group sessions have the advantage of being more focused than drop-in times, but still allow us to serve more students.*Please note that appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.
Check the SUN-E for more session information or our “Upcoming Events” page.
All tutoring sessions will be led by our trained Learning Link tutors who are also your peers at Shenandoah University. All tutors must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must also have earned a grade of an A or B in the courses they will tutor and must be recommended by a faculty member.
No, this is a free service for all currently enrolled SU students.
If you are a currently enrolled SU student, you qualify for this service.
Most tutoring takes place in the Academic Enrichment Center and classrooms on the 3rd Floor of Smith Library. However, tutoring is also available in HLSB, Armstrong, Gregory, and Ruebush. Be sure to check the location of your sessions on Tutor Trac or with your tutor.
*When searching the schedule please hover your cursor over any drop-in times to note the location..
